How is everyone doing these days? Due to signing up for summer school this year, my week long vacation is basically over. Yes, yours truly is starting school in the summer on Wednesday. But I don’t think it will be so hardcore like this year, granted it will probably be really fast but it’s okay.
This semester, how should I describe it? It was basically my hardest semester so far, I’m not gonna lie lol. The Chem lecture itself was not really hard, it actually went by pretty slow compared to last semester. But it was brutal because it required typing a lab report after each experiment so that took up a lot of time plus the tests were kind of tricky. And then there was a stupid lab final in which everyone failed. And when I mean fail, I really mean fail as in the average for this year was like a 44% which is actually better than previous years lmao.
For bio, there were two professors: one focusing more on molecular cell biology and one focusing on plants and animals. And dude…that class went by so fast. Especially the with the first professor. She covers a chapter a day and each chapter is 30 pages so you can imagine the amount of time spent reading just to try to catch up with her, no bueno. And don’t get me started on how much I hated her power points, which were all pictures directly from the book!!The topics she covered wasn’t really that hard, but she made this complicated lol. If I wanted to look at the pictures, I would just carry my damn book around campus and not bother to show up to the lectures. The second professor was much better in actually presenting his lectures but the stuff he covered had way too much information to actually retain in my mind. There’s just way too much plant’s/animal’s names, parts, functions, evolutionary histories to memorize. The good part about these two classes was that I had really nice lab instructors. They made lab much more bearable so it lessened the pain of being there haha.
My third class was just a g.e. class which was geography, more specifically about human diversity in the United States. Honestly, it was kind of useless because not a lot of people bother to show up at all. It’s just one of those classes where you can get an A by just reading the book. Most of the time I just think to myself, “Why did I even bother showing up today?” But I still went because it took my mind off of worrying about chem and bio for about an hour of my day. The only thing that truly annoyed me was the location of the class. It’s located in freaking Narnia or something, hidden from view and on the opposite side of campus compared to most of my other classes.
Bless all of the new friends that helped me throughout this whole year, seriously would have died without them around LOL. Besides from that I decided to take only 3 classes or 12 units rather than taking 16 this semester because I wanted to focus more on my chem and bio classes. But I still think I should’ve done more with my extra time since I still procrastinated like crazy haha. Somehow I got A’s for all three classes. Don’t ask me how I pulled that off, because I honestly don’t know how too.
Therefore because of this I decided I should take summer classes to make up for what I was supposed to take this whole year. The annoying thing is the cost for the classes man…it’s $286 per unit and I’m taking 6 units. Yes there is an option of taking the summer session at the community colleges but I hate the fact that there’s barely anything left. I mean there are people who are full time students there and it’s hard for them to get what they want, which means for someone like me it would mean nothing at all. So even though it’s a pain to pay like $2000+ at csulb, I’d rather do this because I can actually get what I need without the hassle of being on the wait list.
I should also post up a picture of what my fall 2012 semester will be like and it’s not pretty ahahaha. Due to the budget cuts in the education system there is a 13 unit cap at csulb and so I can only take 3 classes so I decided to take chem, physics, and bio which each being 4 units.
Such a pretty schedule huh? NOT! But it’s what I need and what’s available at school so there’s no other way out of it. The only thing I don’t like is the 2 hour breaks in between, like what the hell man!? That takes away most of my day already..gahhh!! I conclude that I will die next semester, especially during finals. Holy crap..can’t wait to see that schedule…hey at least I’ll save some gas since it’s only 4 days. But I’d say the cons still outweigh any pros, so therefore I will be screwed. And to think, I’m not even taking ochem yet. Oh man, can’t wait until that comes around. Actually I could take it next semester, but I am stalling and trying to prolonging everything. I am a horrible coward of a person, I know that.
Now let’s back away from my inevitable doomed future and talk about what I have been doing since summer started. Well, not much as you’d think. I spent most of the time catching up on all the sleep that I lost over this school year. I actually get 8 hours of sleep now, it’s an absolute miracle I tell you. Other than that I have been spending my time with my relatives since it’s also memorial day weekend. Yesterday there was a party because it was my nephew’s birthday. Then today we went to eat at Kim Su. I also saw Yummee there ahaha! I don’t know if it’s just me but I always feel so…restrained(?) when I eat at those kinds of restaurants with my relatives. I have no problems with them and I know that there’s all this food, but I can never really eat freely lol. There’s always someone getting something, and spinning the circle thing and by the time stuff gets to me it’s all gone lol.
Tomorrow or maybe Tuesday i need to go to the mall to exchange these two mascaras. Now first before I type out another long ass paragraph, I need to tell you the story. Last week I went shopping and I needed to buy a moisturizer and cleanser at Clinique. I went there and yada yada yada got what I needed and there was this lady that rung me up. While she was doing the transaction, she asked whether I used any of the mascaras that the offer and so I said yeah I have a few of them. So she told me about the Mascara Madness that Nordstorm has in which you buy any two mascaras from any brand and you’ll get another one for free. Since she’s Asian like me and understands my problems with useless straight lashes, she recommended the Chanel Inimitable Intense masara (it’s truly awesome btw) and asked me if I wanted to try it. I guess she must have been really bored and I was bored as well so I said sure. Yes, I was successfully lured into the whole mascara deal. So I sold my soul to the devil and got that along with two Laura Mercier ones. I had two choices, either I wait until Saturday to pick it up or have it shipped to my house and I chose the former. She got my debit card info just in case I couldn’t make it on Saturday and I specifically told her to not charge it on my card because I wanted to pay in cash. So Saturday rolls by and I go to pick it up and guess what? She charged it on my card -___- of course. I went through the hassle of fixing that and the lady who helped me out was really nice about it. When I arrived home, I looked at the mascaras again and realized that she gave me two bright BLUE colored mascaras! GAHH!! When she tried it on me they were all black. So much fail for one person I swear…lol. Seriously who uses blue mascara for everyday?? Now I have to go back and deal with this minor annoyance.
Ahh..sorry for such a long blog but it has been a while since I did this even though I go on tumblr nearly everyday. If only I could write my essays like this, life would make more sense. That’s all for now, good bye kiddos! :)
